Opioid Response Program
Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome Grant Program: Nassau County
In 2023, the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) Rural Communities Opioid Response Program - Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (RCORP-NAS) grant was awarded to the St. Johns River Rural Health Network and their partners in Nassau County, Florida. The purpose of this grant is to reduce the incidence and impact of NAS in rural communities by improving systems of care, family supports, and social determinants of health. NAS is a group of conditions that can occur when newborns withdraw from certain substances, including opioids, that they were exposed to before birth. Stay tuned for more updates!

Disparities Impact Statement
The Behavioral Health Disparities Impact Statement (DIS), as outlined in the RCORP Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFOs), is designed to help develop a plan for reducing behavioral health disparities in rural service areas. It builds on methods from the original grant application and includes continuous monitoring and measurement of the project's impact on disparities to inform improvements. The DIS serves as a tool for engaging with HRSA project officers, HRSA-funded technical assistance providers, and community partners to guide the project's progress.
